“I played for this great organization and fell in love with the geniality of not only playing basketball, but the mentorship Uncle Major provide me. It’s` tough for a young black male in this society coming from a single parent home! Servants helped give me a foundation to know that God is real, serving God is a must, and most important to love! These things led me to coaching the servants after my playing time. Coaching has allowed me to serve, love, and mentor our youth. There has been trying times with having players pass away during our season, former players getting in some trouble, but there are some that go on to have great families, careers, etc. It’s the mixture that I am describing and knowing we all are God’s children and although we stray, we have this grace that he gives us. This program is my ministry, and it is God lead and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I am grateful that God allows me to coach and to serve his purpose! Jesus was a servant and that’s how we got the name Servants!” My first bible verse I had to remember and still my favorite “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him”

But I guarantee you this. That team will be a guide to and a lamp to your steps on teaching you how to serve others and being the best and highest expression of who God has called you to be. I wouldn’t have made it through college without the teaching and experiences I picked up while playing for Coach Curtis and Major. And for that; I am forever grateful.”

“Good ol Servants Basketball... Where do I being! I played for the Servants from 2000-2003, winning Curtis his first ever championship. He's forever indebted to me for such a feat! For me the Servants was always about more than just basketball. I didn't realize it at the time, but meaningful relationships, discipline, and perseverance are a few of the life lessons you gained from the Servants. Although, as a player, I didn't care for it much at the time, the teachings outside of basketball is something that you won't find in any other program. Years after playing I was given an opportunity to coach the Servants for a few years. Being a mentor to young players and helping them become men later in life was something I really enjoyed and didn't take for granted. It's pretty cool to see a grown man in Best Buy that you used to coach, and he tells you how much you meant to him when he was a teenager!” Shout out to the Servants and what they stand for!

“Servant’s basketball meant everything for me from start to finish. Starting from meeting great teammates and becoming friends with them and seeing how their journey goes. One fun thing was bible study for our out-of-town trips to not knowing completely everything to memorizing most by the end of each summer. I've played with the servants for mostly a long time probably 9,10 years until my senior year to focus on football. Coach Major, Curtis, and Corey always been hard on me since day one and always said its bigger than basketball and it really is in any sport you play. It makes you a better person on and off the court.”

“Playing with the Servants had a huge impact on my life. It not only makes positive influences playing basketball but also provides a multitude of life lessons. Not every club team provides that. Each coach on the staff cares for their players and are 100% in on every individual player. I started playing when I was in the 3rd grade, and I never stopped playing until my senior year in high school. The coaches played a vital role in my development as a player but also a person. They have taught me great qualities that will stay with me forever such as perseverance. The past two years I have played on a top tier team in high school and have brought everything that they have taught me over. The coaches prioritize mindsets and expect perfection from their players which brings the best out of them. The servants are a great organization for anyone looking for a team and I would highly recommend it.”

“My experience with Oklahoma Servants basketball was honestly a blessing! The staff all the way up from coaches to support staff, everyone was there to help you and push you to be the best that they think you can be. That is just the basketball side of it, off the court they taught us to be men and how to handle adversity and the most important thing they brought us closer to Jesus and helped us understand more about the Bible. Everyone that was on that team I still associate with, so they brought us all close we were brothers then and we are still brothers now!!”

“My time with the servants was more than I expected in every way. As a player I was pushed every time I was on the court to get better, and my confidence level grew within the program. My goals to be the best basketball player I could be was never a journey by myself within the servants. I was helped more by this program to get in college and had the resources they had in front of me to get there even with multiple choices. I grew as a person and met some brothers and lifetime people that I’ll always talk to and appreciate. My relationship with God grew with the servants as well, it’s a program that teaches it’s more than basketball and self. "Servants Basketball helped create a foundation of incorporating biblical principles into all aspects of life and sharing those principles with others. As a young and maturing teen, we focused on the basics of the Bible, fellowshipped with our teammates, prayed as a team, fasted for the summer, and learned how to turn the other cheek when the coaches would yell at us even though we were Getting It Done on the court. There are many AAU programs that just value chasing success, but the Servants Organization was focused on building you as a person and preparing your game for the collegiate basketball atmosphere. There is no question God’s hand is on the organization as it is still producing and shaping young men around Oklahoma today."

“When I think about my time playing for Servant’s basketball, I think about the conversations we had as a team. The talks about life in general and being a Christian in this world. It was always bigger than basketball. I’ve built relationships with coaches and teammates that I still talk to today. Everything about the program is unorthodox in a good way. We practice hard, we pray before every game, we ride in 1 hot van and listen to gospel or no music at all. We don’t go shopping in malls or do other things. We’re having Bible studies and bonding with our teammates. The biggest thing I learned while being in the program is to be different. No one dares to be different and when you’re with the Servants I guarantee you that you will be different.”
